Program Focus
The GMA Players specializes in musical theater productions, offering young performers comprehensive exposure to all aspects of musical theater performance, including:
- Vocal training and musical interpretation
- Basic choreography and stage movement
- Character development and acting techniques
- Ensemble performance skills
- Stage presence and performance confidence
Age-Appropriate Training
The program is carefully structured to accommodate performers between 8 and 16 years old, ensuring that training and performance opportunities are developmentally appropriate while challenging young artists to grow. This wide age range allows for:
- Peer mentoring opportunities between older and younger performers
- Age-appropriate role distribution
- Development of collaborative skills across age groups
- Creation of a supportive performance community
Leadership
Under the direction of William Righter, GMA Players provides a nurturing environment where young performers can develop their talents while building confidence, teamwork skills, and a lasting appreciation for the performing arts.
